Pops of Color

It is FINALLY cold here in Columbia, South Carolina. The wind from the Hurricane Sandy is the main cause for that. We haven't had many side affects from the hurricane here besides the wind; which currently sounds like its about to burst in through our dorm window! I have had this outfit picked out and hanging up outside my closet for the past week because it has been far too hot to wear it. The dress is a sweater-like material so paired with the black cardigan I was actually quite warm for most part of the day when it wasn't extremely windy. It's the little touches to this outfit that matter the most; I cuffed up the sleeves of the dress and the cardigan together and it almost makes it look like a blazer.

 

 

Confession: I wore flat oxford type shoes with this outfi tthe beginning of the day because I knew my feet would have been killing me if I had worn these booties all day. I changed into these for the picture and then kept them on until I got back to my dorm and let me tell you....my feet hurt quite a bit even after only a couple hours! The steps and hills I walk up are not good for girls wearing heels!

 

The tights look red in these pictures but they are actually a maroon color. I love the color combo of the maroon and the blue from the necklace because it's so unexpected!
